Department de Santa Cruz de la Sierra

Climate: The temperatures average are of 29 to 32 degrees in spring and summer, but also temperatures of but of 40 degrees and low to 20 or 21 degrees in winter are registered.

Santa Cruz de la Sierra tropical paradise of Bolivia, a department of exuberante vegetation with enormous extensions of forest and prairies, located in the Eastern part of the Bolivian territory. With a surface of 320,000 km square of which only a third includes/understands a mountainous region and the rest she extends on the amazonian plain, located in the Eastern region of Bolivia; she limits the north with the department of Beni and the Republic of Brazil; to the south with the department of Chuquisaca and the Republic of Paraguay; to the east with the Republic of Brazil and to the west with the departments of Beni, Cochabamba and Chuquisaca. It has an extension of 370.621 kms.2 and one population of 1.364.389 inhabitants (census 1992). The capital of the department is the city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra(437 m.s.n.m.) located between 17 47 of South ' 20 " latitude and 63 10 of ' 30 " west longitude of the meridian of Greenwich. This department counts on 15 provinces and 150 cantones.
